Made with intention. Poured with love.
Hi, I'm Kristina, the maker, dreamer, and candle-obsessed human behind Prairie Coast. What started as a deep love for slow living and clean, intentional spaces has grown into something I'm incredibly proud to share with you.
Prairie Coast was born right here in Nebraska, rooted in the belief that the things we bring into our homes should be as good for us as they are beautiful. I started making candles because I wanted something better, cleaner ingredients, thoughtful scents, and a product made with real care. Every candle I pour is small-batch and handcrafted, because I believe that's the only way to do it right.
What Goes Into Every Candle
I'm particular about ingredients, and I think you should be too. That's why every Prairie Coast candle is made with:
- Coconut soy wax-a clean-burning, non-toxic blend that's better for you and the environment
- Cotton wicks-no zinc, no lead, just a clean, even burn
- Phthalate-free fragrance oils-beautiful scents without the harmful chemicals
No shortcuts. No compromises. Just candles you can feel good about burning in your home.
More Than a Candle Shop
Prairie Coast is a place to slow down. In addition to our handcrafted candles, our Waterloo storefront is home to a candle bar where you can create your own custom scent, a refillery so you can give your favorite vessel a second life, and a curated collection of goods we love! You can find books, art, and home goods from brands that share our values.
We also host workshops for those who want to get their hands a little waxy and learn the craft firsthand. It's one of my favorite things we do.
Come Find Us
We'd love to have you visit us in person at our studio and storefront:

Whether you're stopping in for a candle, building your own scent at the bar, or just looking for a little inspiration, there's always a warm welcome (and a good-smelling space) waiting for you.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for choosing slow, intentional living. And thank you for supporting a small, handmade business that truly loves what it does.
